As a follow-up to the Financing Breakfast Eastern Europe focussing on Ukraine, the German Eastern Business Association cordially invites you to a Workshop (online) on 6 March 2024 from 10:00 - approx. 11:30 a.m.

The aim of the workshop is to gather concrete ideas on which obstacles need to be removed and questions answered so that private capital becomes available for engagement in Ukraine. 

Discussions on this topic are currently taking place within the German government and the Chancellery in specific. The OA briefing with representatives of the European Commission also showed that DG NEAR is working more intensively on this topic in the run-up to the Ukraine Recovery Conference. 

This gives us the opportunity to feed these topics into the political discussion and organisation process. As a result of this work, we would like to submit a problem analysis and proposals for (creative) solutions to the German government and the European Commission. To this end, various formats will take place over the course of spring 2024.

In particular, we want to discuss the following topics on 6 March 2024:

1. Involvement of private capital
2. Investment protection
3. (Transport) insurance
4. Transparency, corruption & the rule of law
5. Role of EU rapprochement
6. Secure supply chains (situation at the EU border)
7. Role of a strategic business advisory council
8. Customs clearance
9. Public procurement & tenders
